Anthony Edwards has lived in the 17th Assembly District for 16 years. He is married to his wife Mary who he loves very much and has three wonderful children. His family presently attends New Testament Church where he is an active Minister. Anthony's beliefs as a Christian is what guides the decisions that he makes in his life.
Anthony has spent his entire adult life as a servant. After graduating from Nicolet High School he served his country by enlisting in the United States Army for four years. This was a very valuable experience for him and set the foundation for the rest of his adult life. While in the Military he was entrusted with some important responsibilities and as a result he learned many valuable skills such as discipline, commitment, and sacrifice. After being honorably discharged Anthony came back to Milwaukee and applied and was accepted to the Milwaukee Police Department. He had the honor of serving the citizens of his community for 7 years and gained great insight into many of the social problems that plague the community. He also came to understand how the criminal justice system functions.
After some time Anthony realized his passion and interest was in the area of finance and that he could use his passion as a vehicle to further strengthen his community. Through hard work and preserverance he transitioned careers and entered the financial services industry, becoming a licensed Financial Advisor. While working as a financial advisor for the last 13 years he has helped many of his clients with solutions to assist them in meeting their financial goals. He hosts seminars to educate the public in financial planning for goals like retirement planning, college planning, and some estate planning etc... Anthony presently works for one of the largest financial services companies in the country, JPMorgan Chase as a banker. In addition, he has worked with and mentored high risk youths between the ages of 13-17 years of age by having discussions and participating in activities with them. He also served on the Board of Managers at the YMCA West Suburban Branch for 5 years. Anthony's passion in life is to serve because he is a SERVANT.
