Bill has strong community ties to the City of Waukesha. He was born at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. His parents, William and Pat Kramer, raised Bill, his brother Bob, and three sisters, Andrea, Jeanette and Patty, in Waukesha. Bill's mother was a homemaker. His dad worked as an accountant for Wisconsin Energy Corporation where he later retired with over 30 years of service. Bill attended St. Mary's Grade School and Waukesha South High School. While in high school Bill was a member of the National Honor Society, played football, ran track and was on the debate team. Bill received his accounting degree from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, where he was an active member of Beta Alpha Psi, the honorary accounting fraternity, and graduated magna cum laude with BBA in accounting in 1987. After passing the CPA exam, he worked as an accountant for four years. Bill expanded his knowledge by attending Duke University School of Law. He graduated with his law degree and passed the North Carolina Bar exam in 1994. Bill practiced law for several years in the areas of tax and complex civil litigation. He is a member of the Waukesha County Republican Party. Bill is the founder and owner of Kramer Financial Management. As a Certified Financial Planner™, Bill enjoys using his knowledge of tax law and accounting to assist clients in planning for retirement and their children's college educations. Bill currently is serving his first term as the State Representative for the 97th Assembly District representing parts of the city and town of Waukesha. Prior to his election in 2006 to the State Assembly, Bill served on Waukesha County’s Board of Supervisors. While on the county board and in the Assembly, Bill has fought for the citizens of Waukesha against burdensome taxes and worked to ensure safe communities and a strong, job-producing and growing economy.
