Christine Sinicki was born in Milwaukee in March, 1960. She grew up in the Bay View neighborhood and
graduated from Bay View High School. After graduation, Christine worked as a supervisor of wait staff at the South Shore Yacht Club until becoming manager of a small business in Bay View. In 1981 she married Mike Sinicki. She is the proud mother of two sons, Jim and Joe.
Her involvement with her children’s education led her into a life of civil engagement and public service. She is a former PTA member and President. After learning first-hand the issues facing public education, she ran successfully for Milwaukee Public School Board in 1991. Christine served on the School Board until 1998, when she was elected to the State Assembly. In 2010, Christine was re-elected to the State Assembly for a 7th term, and currently serves as the ranking Democrat on the Assembly Committee on Labor & Workforce Development.
As your Assembly Representative Christine makes worker's rights, education and health care her top priorities. She is a member of the Wisconsin Congress of Parents and Teachers, the Assembly Democratic Task Force on Working Families. Representative Sinicki was named a Flemming Fellow by the Center for Policy Alternatives, and as a Fellow by the Bowhay Institute at the La Follette School of Government, UW Madison. Chris lives with her husband in Bay View.
