Candidate Biography

From candidate Website

I was born in Black River Falls, and grew up on a dairy farm that had been in my family since the 1850’s.  I have 3 younger brothers, and we grew up doing chores on the farm.  We kids were active in church, in 4-H, in music and other activities at school.  My grandparents and my parents were people who taught me that you needed to work hard, play fair, and give back to your community.

I went to college in Appleton, Wisconsin, where I met my husband, Mike.  We’ve been married for 25 years.  We moved to this area in 1992 and raised our two daughters here - Andrea, who is attending college in Appleton, and Emily, who is a senior in River Falls High School.
I am a lawyer with the Lommen Abdo law firm in Hudson and practice in both Wisconsin and Minnesota.
I was taught by my family to give back to the community. I've been active in the River Falls Rotary (President, and Board of Directors for the regional district 5960), and my church, River Falls United Methodist, where I've been active in governance at the parish, state, and regional levels. I am also on the Board of Directors of FORWARD, a private foundation to support the School District of River Falls, and I am a co-founder of  the River Falls Community Theater.
