He is a 33-year veteran of the Sheboygan Sheriff Department and served as the County Sheriff for 8 years. During his tenure, he saved Sheboygan County’s budget nearly one million dollars and ensured exceptional public safety services for its citizens. He also oversaw a 17 million dollar budget and 180 employees. While in office, he led several new reforms to make government work better for Sheboygan’s citizens, including establishing a 911 wireless mapping system and re-organizing the department to make it run more efficiently.
In addition to his services for the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, he serves on the Sheboygan and Plymouth United Way Board of Directors and is past president of the Sheboygan Noon Lions Club. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Sheboygan County Health Care Chaplaincy and former member of the Sheboygan Hmong Associations Board. He has been recipient of the LTC Citizens Service Award and is a two-time recipient of the Sheriff’sAward of Excellence.
He has been married 17 years to his wife Ann and is the proud father of two children and grandfather of two grandchildren. He and Ann have lived in Sheboygan County their whole lives.
