Shan Haqqi is a successful business leader with nearly two decades of experience in financial planning, economic development, and public policy. As President and CEO of S&L Global Consulting, he helps Wisconsin families manage their finances, plan for the future, and save money. His expertise in financial management makes Shan uniquely qualified to develop a balanced, fiscally responsible state budget.
 
Shan makes it a commitment to give back to the community. He works with local community groups to develop and manage revitalization projects that have generated millions in new investments and attracted dozens of new businesses. Improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods is both a personal and professional priority for Shan.

While Shan calls Wisconsin home, he has extensive international business experience. As Special Assistant to the Mayor of Houston, Texas, he arranged and facilitated business development missions to China, Japan, Taiwan, India, the Middle East, and Africa. These missions resulted in dozens of business agreements with multiple international governments. Shan knows how to bring high-tech jobs to the U.S.
 
In his role as Special Assistant, Shan was responsible for advising the Mayor on policy issues, including budget matters, as well as on special projects and administrative affairs. He represented the Mayor at special meetings, seminars, conferences, and other special events and assisted the Mayor's constituents with numerous community-related issues and concerns. Shan earned multiple honors and awards for his results-oriented approach to public service.
 

Shan came to the U.S. more than two decades ago with a dream. Like so many who came before them, he and his parents saw America as the Land of Opportunity that could offer them a better life. Now Shan is living that dream. He has been married to his wife Lubna, a physician, for 15 years, and they are the proud parents of six-year-old twins Maali and Mazun. Shan took advantage of the educational opportunities offered in the U.S. and earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Human Services with a concentration in Healthcare.
