I never thought of my story as particularly interesting but it makes sense that people will want to know a little history about the person who wants to represent them in Washington D.C. as a U.S. Senator. I grew up and lived in Milwaukee all my life. After graduating from Milwaukee Trade and Technical High School in 1984, I got a job driving a truck for a plumbing company. I got my apprenticeship, earned my journeyman's license and eventually earned my Master's Plumbing license. I've worked in the construction trade my whole life. Over the years I've worked on all kinds of buildings in Wisconsin, including hospitals, office buildings and new houses. From 2006 to 2009 I worked what is called "working the road". During that time I worked across the country from Miami, FL to Las Vegas, NV to Michigan. I worked in big hotels, power plants, gas and nuclear plants including one of the two nuclear plants we have in Two Rivers, WI.
I've worked over the years in different political campaigns and stayed informed on the issues. I was a candidate for office once 18 yrs ago in 1992. Working accross the country the past couple of years has given me a broad perspective on issues. It makes one realize we have a BIG country and things that don't work here might work somewhere else. Decisions made in Washington, D.C. will affect the whole country as well. During these difficult times I have no inclination to sit and hope things get better. When a friend heard me complain that the candidates were only listing problems not offering solutions, she asked, "Why not enter the race and offer your ideas?" It's in that spirit that I come forward with my ideas. I will lay out a clear path on how to get from where we are to where we need to go. Please take the time to read my position on the issues and consider them when casting your vote for U.S.Senator from Wisconsin.
