Leading up to the 2012 fall elections, The West Side will host nine consecutive candidate forums featuring candidates from western Wisconsin legislative districts. The forums will be broadcast on Thursday evenings at 5 p.m. on 88.3 WHWC/Menomonie-Eau Claire. Several will also be broadcast on 88.7 WRFW/River Falls. The forum specials begin airing on Thursday, September 6th.
Rich Kremer will host the forums in a call-in format that encourages listeners to participate in the discussion. Listeners may call in with questions and comments during the program at 1-800-228-5615.

The September 20 forum will be broadcast from the Kinnickinnic River Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The November 1st forum will also be broadcast from a remote location in the 93rd Assembly district (More information on forum location will become available shortly. Both remote broadcasts are open to the public to attend.
Wisconsin Public Radio continues to provide public forums following an over 20 year commitment to providing voters in western Wisconsin access to their candidates for public office. Public forums allow a community to better understand how each regional legislative candidate will represent their community, county and state. The live discussions facilitate listener participation and present a platform for candidates to share their opinions on issues important to western Wisconsin voters.
