I am a near-lifelong resident of Wisconsin. My dad, Denis Rockman, was in the Air Force, and I was born on an Air Force base in Grand Forks, North Dakota. After he was discharged, we returned to Wisconsin, as both of my parents grew up on family farms. My mom, Joyce Rockman grew up in Glenwood City, Wisconsin. My dad grew up in Neopit, Wisconsin. They instilled a strong work ethic and showed me how to be a public servant.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with liberal arts degrees in 2001. I attended the University of Wisconsin Law School, and I graduated with a juris doctor degree in 2005. I am an enrolled member of the Ho-Chunk Nation; I have worked for the Ho-Chunk Nation tribal government in varying capacities for the past fifteen years, including as the tribe’s Associate Judge, Attorney General, and Senior Tribal Counsel.
Currently, I reside in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, along with my husband and children. I have two daughters; one is attending technical college and the other is studying abroad in Thailand through Rotary. I have two sons; a high school freshman and an elementary student. We have a family pet, a French bulldog named Charli.
I’m running because of the hardships that my family will undoubtedly face. I listen to my parents and their concerns ranging from social security, health care, road conditions, and taxes. I listen to my children and their concerns with active shooter drills, climate change concerns, and public university affordability.
