Candidate Biography

Katherine met her future husband, Jason, at Wausau East High School (Wausau, Wisconsin) while participating in the International Baccalaureate Program (IB). Katherine and Jason welcomed their first born, Timothy James (TJ), on April 6, 2004.
In 2005, Katherine and Jason chose the town of Delavan, in Wisconsin’s District 32, to raise their family. Since Day One, Katherine has been actively involved in our community as Coordinator for Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS), President of the Family Resource Coalition of Walworth County (FRC), and a Citizen Representative to the Walworth County University of Wisconsin Extension Community Partner Advisory Group (CPAG). Katherine holds a Bachelor in Business Administration (Accounting) from St. Leo University, St. Leo, FL. She is also a graduate of the University of Florida, with a Master of Health Administration. In 2007, Katherine began teaching as a college professor at the undergraduate and graduate level, focusing on healthcare, critical thinking, and public administration. It was also at this time that Katherine decided to pursue a PhD, earning a Doctorate in Human Services, with an emphasis on Public Service Leadership, from Capella University, in 2010.
