Candidate Biography

Appointed to the Green Bay Area Public School Board in August 2018 and elected in April 2019, Kristina’s community contributions are wide-ranging. She has worked with community groups to raise money for local school backpack drives, monthly community conversations about equity, and annual outreach. Living the motto, “We all do better when empowered women empower women,” she served as Northeast Regional Coordinator for the Women’s March Wisconsin, helping to organize a major event in Green Bay and rally in January 2018 attended by more than 400 people. Kristina was recently named as a 2019-2020 Current Young Professional “Future 15” recipient, an award that annually profiles young professionals who are growing and excelling in their fields. Most recently, she won the 2019 “Activist of the Year Award” from Citizen Action’s Northeast Wisconsin Co-op.
Kristina’s primary goal as a community leader is to advocate for the needs of Green Bay’s constituents, while understanding the strategic and intersectional issues to support grassroots movements, as well as policy and systems level change at the state level. She strives to build partnerships across both the public and private sectors and believes authentic collaboration with a shared, common interest is critical to create a culture of belonging and to enhance the benefits of collective success.
