Candidate Biography

Chris is a leading member of a group of doctors who provide emergency services to hospitals in Western Wisconsin, Minneapolis, and St. Paul. As an Emergency Room Physician and Medical Director of Abbott Northwestern, Chris is passionate about improving healthcare and rural emergency services. He has been an instrumental leader in taking a small single hospital practice and transforming it into one of the region’s largest employers. Chris has spent a considerable amount of his career teaching emergency medicine to train doctors on the skills necessary to provide quality care. He looks forward to applying his business experience and expertise in healthcare as a State Representative. Chris and his wife of 28 years, Molly, have owned their farm in the town of Sheridan for over 20 years. Their four children attended Boyceville Public Schools; with one daughter now attending UW-Madison, another daughter in high school, and a son starting college in the fall.In addition to serving as a Doctor, Chris has spent a considerable amount of his career teaching emergency medicine to train doctors on the skills necessary to provide quality care. Chris is also an avid outdoorsman and is passionate about improving wildlife habitats, including prairie restoration and protecting wetlands. He has planted thousands of trees in the area. He enjoys all types of hunting, especially pheasant and grouse hunting with his black lab Hector.
