After graduating from University of Wisconsin Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders in 2009, Julie continued on to complete her Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology in 2011. Upon completion, she began work in the Fond du Lac area at several nursing homes in a skilled nursing setting. In 2017 Julie decided to pursue becoming a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in the public schools. She took a position with the Oshkosh Area School district, working with students from grades K-12. In 2019 Julie began as an SLP in the Fond du Lac Area School District. Julie’s entire career has been based on empowering everyone she works with to find their voice. Each person is different, learns in a different way, and responds differently to each situation. Julie takes the time to listen to each one, evaluates their needs, and finds solutions that are tailored to them. She advocates for their progress, and for what they need to thrive. Julie collaborates extensively with her peers, factoring in their perspective, expertise and ideas to find a cohesive plan. The skills that Julie has developed through her professional career, in addition to her personal experiences, are directly applicable to being your representative. She knows the value of hard work. She understands the importance of making sure that every person is treated with respect and dignity. Julie is an active listener, a problem solver, a collaborator and an advocate. She is willing to stand up and fight for not only what she believes in, but what is right.
